If you are a low-budget production but want to use professional actors in Toronto, there is a program called TIP which offers low pay scales. You can cast your production on AACTION for free, where you can see both union and non-union actors. Mandy.com offers limited free casting services, and is a great place to find crew.

Discounted equipment rentals and facilities are available through LIFT. Larger equipment houses sometimes will offer you a deal if you're starting out. We've had good experience with Complete Film Rentals (for the best deal) and P.S. (for the best equipment).

The most comprehensive site for film festival submission guidelines is withoutabox. A decent alternative to youtube (no link...they have enough) for online screening and viewing is Triggerstreet, where the mojoPro film Laundry made it's debut and ranked in the Top 50. And if you're still in the screenplay stage, try having it read at Lift Out Loud or Wildsound.
